NFL Picks Week 3: Giants at 49ers Kicks Off The Week’s NFL Action
NFL Week 2 has come and gone. Some teams got through the week without anything terrible happening. For others, it was bad. A few teams have already suffered big time injuries that should affect their seasons. Check out the teams that will require luck in NFL Week 3 in this week’s NFL Betting Man picks blog.
NFL Week 3 Picks
Thursday, Sep 21
New York Giants at San Francisco 49ers -10
The San Francisco 49ers messed around with the youngsters on the Rams offense. But at the end, SF pulled away for an easier than it looks 30-23 victory. What’s annoying, especially if you backed SF at -7.5, the Rams took a field goal late in the game for a half a point backdoor cover.
The Giants shouldn’t be in a position for any backdoor covers. The G-Men will be without their top offensive weapon in Saquon Barkley and this is SF’s home opener.
Week 3 Pick: 49ers -10

NFL Week 3 Games
Sunday, Sep 24
Los Angeles Chargers at Minnesota Vikings -1
The game could go either way, but Minnesota gets the Chargers on their turf. Almost as important? In two games where the Bolts had a shot to win, LAC couldn’t shut the door.
There’s no excuse losing to the Titans, a team that can’t protect Ryan Tannehill. The Vikings shot themselves in the foot in NFL Week 2 as well but it was against Jalen Hurts and the Eagles.
Week 3 Pick: Vikings -1
New Orleans Saints at Green Bay Packers -1.5
Green Bay blew a game on the road versus Atlanta. So many will expect them to hand the Saints a loss. But there are a couple of things that make the Packers difficult to back.
First, the Falcons racked up 211 rushing yards and Desmond Ridder threw for 237. Derek Carr should have a monster game because he gets to throw to Chris Olave and Michael Thomas.
Second, although the Saints are down Jamal Williams at RB, all they do is throw Taysom Hill into the backfield. Also, the Saints D sacked Bryce Young 4 times and forced a fumble in their second game.
In N’Awlins’ first, they sacked Ryan Tannehill 3 times and forced 3 picks. Saints win.
Week 3 Pick: Saints +1.5
Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars -9.5
The Jaguars could have pulled off the upset against KC. The key series was when Jacksonville called a Trevor Lawrence bootleg at first and goal on the 1. Three straight runs up the middle and the Jags would have a scored a TD.
The Texans don’t have a good enough offense or defense to keep this close. Jacksonville takes out their frustrations on rookie C.J. Stroud and the overmatched Texans.
Week 3 Pick: Jaguars -9.5
Tennessee Titans at Cleveland Browns -3
Don’t be surprised when the line changes to Browns -1 or even Titans +1. Tennessee heads to Cleveland after pulling off a home upset versus a much better team, the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Browns fell to Pittsburgh on Monday night. Not only did Cleveland lose to a rival, but they also lost Nick Chubb, the most important piece of their offense.
In addition, quarterback Deshaun Watson is playing terrible football. Watson is completing 55.1% of his passes and has thrown 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.
Week 3 Pick: Titans +3
Must be 21+ to participate. T&Cs apply. NY/NJ/CO/PA/MI/IA Residents Only.
Indianapolis Colts at Baltimore Ravens -8.5
The Ravens have looked great in a couple of games but giving up 8.5 to a team that can start electrifying rookie Anthony Richardson, who has yet to be ruled out due to a concussion, or veteran Gardner Minshew is asking a lot. The Colts have a decent defense. So this should be closer than the spread.
Week 3 Pick: Colts +8.5
Denver Broncos at Miami Dolphins -6.5
The problem is Denver’s defense. The offense built a lead versus the Washington Commanders, but then the defense imploded.
It’s difficult to understand the issue because Denver’s D was fantastic last season. It’s hard to see a Sean Payton-coached team going 0-3 SU and ATS. But Miami’s offense is clicking and the D stepped it up versus the Patriots.
Week 3 Pick: Dolphins -6.5
Must be 21+ to participate. T&Cs apply. NY/NJ/CO/PA/MI Residents Only.
New England Patriots -2.5 at New York Jets
The Jets answers to the Aaron Rodgers injury is to play Zach Wilson. There was a moment versus Dallas where it appeared Wilson might do enough to keep the game close. But Zach started throwing picks.
So unless the Jets change the offense to take pressure off Wilson, the season is over. Bill Belichick loves to dominate the Jets, not just beat them, but dominate them. Pats are hungry for a big win.
Week 3 Pick: Patriots -2.5
Buffalo Bills -6.5 at Washington Commanders
Buffalo bounced back from the loss to the Jets with a dominating victory against the Raiders. But the game happened in Buffalo.
On Sunday, the Bills travel to Washington. The Commanders are 2-0, have gained confidence, and should pose some issues for Josh Allen and the Bills’ offense. D.C. covers.
Week 3 Pick: Commanders +6.5
Must be 21+ to participate. T&Cs apply. NJ Residents Only.
Atlanta Falcons at Detroit Lions -3
Detroit players David Montgomery and Amon Ra-St. Brown are listed as questionable. Starting free safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson is on IR.
The Falcons rallied to beat the Packers last Sunday. Bijan Robinson is already one of the league’s top running backs. QB Desmond Ridder started to get it going with Drake London. So Gardner-Johnson’s absence could be a problem for Detroit.
NFL Week 3 Pick: Falcons +3
Carolina Panthers at Seattle Seahawks -6
Carolina’s best defensive player, Shaq Thompson, is out. That alone will make it difficult to stop a Seahawks offense that boasts bruising running back Kenneth Walker III.
Not only that, but Seattle’s defense has improved from last season and the Panthers’ offensive line is a disaster. The Hawks should blow through the spread line.
NFL Week 3 Pick: Seahawks -6
Must be 21+ to participate. T&Cs apply. IL Residents Only.
Dallas Cowboys -12 at Arizona Cardinals
Laying -12 is tough. However, the AZ offense has no chance of moving the ball against Micah Parsons and his buds.
The Arizona defense fell apart against the Giants. So Dak Prescott to CeeDee Lamb should be an all afternoon occurrence.
NFL Week 3 Pick: Cowboys -12
Chicago Bears at Kansas City Chiefs -12.5
The Bears offense is a mess. It’s taken a massive backward step, which is an issue because Chicago’s defense might be the worst unit in the NFL.
From every angle, KC covers. But the Chiefs were horrible against the spread last season and Magic Mahomes and his mates head into this a week after a tough game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. A 10 point KC victory is the prediction.
NFL Week 3 Pick: Bears +12.5
Must be 21+ to participate. T&Cs apply. NJ Residents Only.
Pittsburgh Steelers at Las Vegas Raiders -2.5
The Raiders laid the proverbial rotten egg against an inspired Buffalo squad in their last. Pittsburgh impressed when leaning on their defense to beat the rival Browns.
The Steelers should bounce in this. Beating Cleveland was tough and it happened on a Monday night. Also, let’s be real. The Raiders aren’t as bad as they showed agianst Allen and the Bills.
NFL Week 3 Pick: Raiders -2.5
Monday, Sep 25
Philadelphia Eagles -5 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Not only will the Bucs cover but they should also win this straight up. Philadelphia is 2-0 but they haven’t looked good in a couple of games.
The offense struggled against the Patriots. Then in NFL Week 2, Hurts and his mates almost blew a lead against Kirk Cousins, Justin Jefferson, and the Vikings. Baker Mayfield is playing great ball and the Bucs’ D might be the best Philly has faced so far this season. Take the points.
NFL Week 3 Pick: Buccaneers +5
Must be 21+ to participate. T&Cs apply. CO Residents Only.
Los Angeles Rams at Cincinnati Bengals -2
The Bengals started the season against a couple of AFC North rivals, the Cleveland Browns and the Baltimore Ravens. Both losses happened because Joe Burrow is dealing with a calf issue.
Cincinnati’s offense, even if Jake Browning gets the start, should perform well against a Rams’ defense that gave up 5.7 rushing yards per carry to the San Francisco 49ers.
Although the Rams’ offense looked great in the first half against the Niners, it imploded in the second half. Matthew Stafford threw a couple of picks and the Rams struggled to move the ball. This won’t be an easy win, but the Bengals pull through with a 3-point victory.
NFL Week 3 Pick: Bengals -2
